What is LEDES, and why is my client demanding it?
LEDES is a file format corporate legal departments use to automatically process invoices, with every date and name written one exact way: 6/1/2026 as 20260601, Dana Larkin as Larkin, Dana. It’s a tricky format — LedesFix makes it simple.

Your billing in plain columns you recognize. Obvious fixes — a date typed three ways, a name in the wrong order — are already done for you.
| Date | Timekeeper | Description | Hours | Rate | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 06/12/2026 | J. Marsh | Draft motion to dismiss | 2.40 | $310.00 | $744.00 |

| 06/13/2026 | J. Marsh | Call with client re: settlement | 0.50 | $310.00 | $155.00 |
You don’t have to know how LEDES works. We ask when we need you.

FAQ
Is my data secure?
Your data is secure. Your files are encrypted and stay private. We keep them while you have an account — so if your client’s system rejects an invoice months later, we can repair it against the exact file we delivered — and we delete them when you ask. They’re not used to train AI models.
What if my spreadsheet is a mess?
Messy is what we expect — columns in a strange order, dates typed three ways, blank cells, notes in the wrong place. Where a value is genuinely ambiguous, we ask you a plain question instead of guessing. A dirty value never silently becomes a number in the file.
What about next month?
The first time through, you confirm how your columns map, which rates are right, and a few portal facts. We save your mappings and portal facts as a client profile, so next month you upload the new billing and review a much shorter list — usually just what changed. One profile covers every attorney, timekeeper, and matter for that client.
My client just told me they require LEDES. Where do I start?
Start with the billing you already have — the spreadsheet or export you use now. Upload it, and we’ll show you what a LEDES file made from it looks like before you commit to anything.
What if the portal rejects the file?
It’s going to work. But if a file ever bounces, upload the portal’s response into the same job and we fix it — no charge, no starting over. When the fix belongs to the portal instead, like a matter or timekeeper nobody has set up yet, we tell you exactly what to ask for.
Pricing
One flat price per client. Every invoice included.
A note from the founder
“I built LedesFix after watching a lawyer close to me lose nights to an e-billing portal that kept saying no.”
